Next steps

At 8:00am today we went to the farmer's market.  At 9:45am we came home and had a snack.  At 10:05am The MVP took three steps.  By 10:20am we could, in fairness, say that our son now walks.

And it looked a little something like this:

The MVP does Costco

Saving money, buying in bulk.  That's just how The MVP rolls.

Get me out of here!

Most weekend days, we take The MVP out to play once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  He loves it and we find that it helps him nap -- everybody wins.  Unfortunately, he's been sick with a viral infection this past week so we haven't taken him out much.  Today, we took him out in the morning but decided it was too much to go again in the afternoon, opting instead to play with him in the house.

Around 3:00 he grabbed some socks out of the clean laundry and started touching them to his feet over and over.  Very cute.  It was a little cold, so I put them on him.  He crawled away.  A few minutes later he returned with a pair of shoes and handed them to me.

He seemed quite happy when we went out.

Happy Birthday, Lias!

And, with that, the baby trio is now a triumvirate of toddlers.

This is not the triumvirate we're talking about.

Happy Birthday, Lias!  The MVP looks forward to toddling with you.

A Man, A Plan, A Chiam: Oliver

Oli G turns 1 today (booyakasha).  He's celebrating in Panama, which makes sense because his birthday  (01-02-2010)  is palindromic and Panama is the subject of the world's best palindrome.

Then

Now
Happy birthday, Oli!

It's Jan 1 in Pasadena... What should we do today?

Let's stroll on up to Colorado Blvd and see if there is anything going on there.

Yes, our family from Wisconsin would probably be wearing shorts and t-shirts, but 40 degrees is COLD.
Nobody marches like Marines.  Oorah!

The layers start to come off...

One for Great Uncle Bill and Great Aunt Barb (and kin).
We don't want to know how the MVP's very resourceful "Ba" secured the MVP a prime seat near the front.  We continue to observe a strict "don't ask, don't tell"policy in these situations.

The bands were the MVP's favorite - he bopped up and down as they played.

Now, here's a special bonus video of the MVP with a picture of his "Ba".

Happy New Year, everyone!
